Leadership and Supervisor Training – Leadership Skills for Supervisors: Communication, Coaching, and Conflict Resolution
In every organization, there comes a time when someone realizes that they could be doing better, if only they knew how… They have grown, made profits, hired more people and grown some more, but it doesn’t seem right – something is missing.
If only they knew what.
That something is probably leadership.
Not that they don’t have a great leader, or a great business plan, but sometimes, it takes a little objectivity and some external insight to organize thinking and operations into more cohesive action plans that everyone feels comfortable falling in with.
When people naturally gravitate to the course charted by the leader, then you have sound leadership. When there is continual dissent, questioning and a lack of harmony, then there is a lack of leadership.
At times like this, it may only take a little to align the organization culturally and energetically with a little leadership and supervisor training to recreate the feeling of harmony and productivity, with the resulting bottom line improvement.
There are many leadership and supervisor training programs available, some half days, some weekend or week-long intensive and a whole lot in between. However, leadership and supervisor training needs to be designed and delivered in the way that people learn. You might remember cramming for an exam back in school – how successful was it? Same here – it didn’t work for me either.
However, training that is experiential, engaging, connects with my creative and my organized thinking mind, and is delivered over time with exercises for me to practice and come back to review, revise and rehearse, now that is powerful for me.
It’s how we have designed this particular leadership and supervisor training.
Naturally, it’s designed within an Accelerated Learning format so that as it is delivered, it is automatically embedded into the subconscious of the learner. However, it’s also experiential, active, has exercises and activities to physically and emotionally work with in groups and solo.
It’s also delivered over two days, preferably a fortnight apart. That is so you can take the lessons out into your own world, try them out, learn, mess them up and come back and improve them, all in the safe learning environment of our workshop.
Leadership and Supervisor Training Topics:
This is a powerful and in-depth program, with some material you may never have seen before, and some that will be a refresher program for you.
The totally new material could be:
- The Emotional Tone Scale and how it impacts leadership and supervisor training through emotional understanding and managing emotional states, in yourself and others.
- Sub-personalities and how to align people with where and who they need to be in each moment.
- Instant conflict resolution – yes – instant! How to take a conflicted situation and get all parties into possibility and solution thinking modes without them even having time to realize it!
- The Accelerated Learning Delivery format – a powerful and easy way for a person or a group to absorb and assimilate information in a way that stays with them forever.
Of course, there will be familiar areas of the program too, such as:
- Leadership Styles
- Group Dynamics
- Time Management (but with a very different slant on it)
- Onboarding, Orientation & Performance Management
- Communication and Coaching
- The Commitment Curve
- Employee Development Models, and
- Long Term Conflict Resolution Processes
Whilst you may have seen some of these topics before, it’s probable you’ll never have seen them delivered with Accelerated Learning, or with the focus and accent on your own organization’s needs that we will deliver. They will be a great refresher at the very least, a reminder of what you have forgotten, and provide a platform and reference point for the totally new material we will deliver for you!
Who needs Leadership and Supervisor Training?
At times, every person in the team will need to step up and take a leading role – sometimes because it may be that they just know more about this situation at that time than anyone else. The fact is, everyone needs to have leadership and supervisory skills, so that when the situation occurs, they CAN step up and take charge.

Leadership and Supervisor Training is not meant to be a holiday, a couple of days off at some hotel. The venue is irrelevant – leadership demands can occur anywhere and at any time. This program will instill within you and your team the ability to handle any situation that arises, whether from internal of external conflict or stressor, to come through with a plan and strategy that takes the whole organization forward.
PLEASE NOTE: This Leadership and Supervisor Training does incorporate much of the material of the three hour “Leading Leaders” program, and expands upon it greatly. The Leading Leaders program could be an introductory program to this more advanced workshop, which is run over two days, rather than one half day.
Each Leadership and Supervisor Training Program is designed around your own specific organizational needs. Whilst the core modules are already prepared, we take time to work with you to tailor the content around your own challenges, making each program unique to each client organization.
